Proper and regular cleaning can help ensure both a longer lasting mattress and better, more refreshing sleep.
- Vacuum: After removing the linens, use your vacuum cleaner (we sell and recommend Hoover) with an upholstery attachment to remove dead skin and dust. Both attract pests.
- Treat any stains: Spot treat using a good upholstery cleaner, or make your own using 1 tsp. dish detergent in 1 cup warm water. If stains are organic (read, urine) we recommend and sell Urine Off, an excellent enzyme-based cleaner.
- Deodorize: Ideally, liberally sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface and let it sit 24 hours, in direct sunlight if possible. Vacuum when done to remove the baking soda.
- Protect: Add a mattress protector to help prevent dust mites, stains, and build up of dead skin.
